SerenityOS

Via QEMU advent calendar, but an older i686 version Contributed by Alberto Garcia SerenityOS is a modern, Unix-like operating system in continuous development since 2018. With a user interface inspired by the late 90s operating systems, SerenityOS has a x86 64-bit kernel with pre-emptive multi-threading, system services, modern IPC, POSIX compatibility, virtual file system and network stack. It also comes with many applications such as a terminal, text editor, paint tool, spreadsheet, various games, and Ladybird, a new independent web browser that isn't based on any existing web engine. Everything that comes with the OS has been written from scratch with no extra dependencies, but it also has a ports system that allows the user to install many popular open source packages. https://serenityos.org/

Advent of v86 is presenting one OS per day from the 1st until the 24th of December. This page features disk images from the QEMU Advent Calendar (if they are 32-bit x86 and work in v86). Thanks to the QEMU community for the idea and putting together the disk images!
Here's a screenshot of running all 24 OSes at the same time.
